I would love to be there, but it was a bit difficult to justify it given that I already have two consecutive conferences in Europe and this would add a third one. I’m the kind of traveler that starts getting homesick around the 10th day away, so three weeks is too much for me. However, my STScI colleague Hannah Diamond-Lowe will be there to give a talk about the Rocky Worlds DDT program, so go have a chat with her if you’re attending Cool Stars this year. ...

Attend the "From Stars to Life" workshop in Natal, Brazil

I am briefly advertising the open call for abstracts and financial support to attend this excellent workshop organized by Adriana Valio and colleagues (including myself as part of the Scientific Organizing Committee). We invite researchers and students to submit abstracts for contributed talks and poster presentations for the international workshop “From Stars to Life: Stellar Impacts on Planetary Atmospheres, Habitability, and Biosignatures Detection” hosted at the International Institute of Physics (IIP) in Natal, Brazil, from November 2–6, 2026. This event will convene astronomers, astrobiologists, and planetary scientists to explore the critical links between stellar activity, exoplanets atmospheres, and the potential for life on distant worlds. ...
